Privacy Policy

This site — noraashdown.com — is the author website for Nora Ashdown and the cozy mystery series The Uncut Pages Bookshop Mysteries. It is run by the author as an independent publishing brand. This page explains what personal information the site collects, why, and who else handles it.

What is collected

We do not ask you for personal information simply for reading these pages. Our infrastructure providers may keep routine server logs as described below.

• Newsletter and free novella sign-up — your email address, plus which form on the site it came from.
• Contact form — your name, email address, subject, and message.
• ARC / Street Team application — your first name, email address, the review platform you use, a link to your reviewer profile if you provide one, and your favourite cozy trope.

Why it is collected

• To deliver the free prequel novella you asked for.
• To send the reader newsletter — new releases, occasional notes from the bookshop — which you can leave at any time.
• To read and reply to messages you send.
• To review and answer ARC / Street Team applications.

Who else handles it

Running the site means a few service providers store or move this data. These are the only ones involved:

• Vercel — hosts the website and stores its images.
• Neon — the Postgres database where form submissions are stored.
• MailerLite — sends the welcome email, the free novella, and the newsletter. Subscriber email addresses are stored there as well as in the site database.
• Google Analytics — counts visits and page views so the author can tell which writing reaches readers. It receives no name or email address.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no advertising cookies and sells no data to advertisers. It does run Google Analytics, which sets cookies to count visits and see which pages readers actually reach. That tells the author whether a post found an audience — it is not linked to your name or email, and it is never used to target ads at you.

You can opt out for every site at once with Google’s browser add-on, or block analytics cookies in your browser settings. The site works exactly the same either way.

The only other cookie the site can set is a login session cookie in the private admin area, which only the author uses. Vercel and Neon keep ordinary server logs, as any web host does.

No sale of personal data

Your personal data is never sold, rented, or traded. It is not shared with anyone beyond the providers listed above, which process it only to make the site and its emails work.

Pinterest API

The author uses a private, in-house publishing tool that connects to the Pinterest API with the author’s own authenticated Pinterest account. It reads that account’s boards and Pins and creates new Pins, solely to publish organic author-brand content for this book series.

The tool has no third-party users and no public interface: no visitor to this site can sign in to it, use it, or reach it. It does not access any other Pinterest user’s account or data, and no data obtained from Pinterest is sold, shared, or passed to anyone else.

Keeping and removing your data

Email addresses and form submissions are kept while they are still useful for the purposes above. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, which stops the mail immediately. If you want your details deleted altogether, ask and they will be removed.
